Welcome to the second edition of TachPro Transport News, it’s been a while since our first post but there was a good reason… A little exhibition we exhibited at called the CV Show at the NEC (you may have heard of it!). A quick thanks to all that visited our stand, it was our 7th year in a row at the show and we had a great 3 days, it was a pleasure to meet you all.
We'll be back again next year, and the dates have been announced. So make a date in your diary for the 24th-26th April 2018 and we'll see you there.
So to kick things off, here are a couple of snippets of news from this years CV Show:
DAF Launches New Tractor Units
DAF launched a couple of beauties at the show, the CF and XF tractor units were a huge success and got lots of people talking. DAF state that the units can offer up to 7% better fuel economy and drivers get completely new interiors that could be the most comfortable on the market today.

There was some more great news from the CV Show from our friends at Trutac, who have launched a rebranded product suite which includes TruAnalysis tachograph analysis and vehcile tracking with TruLocation. The Trutac team were really pleased with the CV Show in general and will definitely be there again next year (as will we).

RASE a glass!
Rase Distribution, a Palletways member based in Lincoln, have recently invested a cool £800,000 in four x 44 tonne tractor units and four x 26 tonne curtainside trucks, all supplied by Scania.
Congratulations to them, a great way to kick off their 50th anniversary celebrations!

Rise of the Super-Lorry
Denby Transport have been demonstrating an 84ft “super-lorry” which they claim will cut pollution and congestion. Check out this great video over at the BBC website:
X Rated Pick Up!
Last but my no means least, over at Auto Express there is a run-down of everything they know so far about the upcoming Mercedes X-Class pick up truck – it looks amazing and if your thinking of getting a new pick-up, then we suggest you get your £1000 deposit down with Mercedes asap as this will be a hot seller for sure!
Not sure the concept interior will make it to the production line though...
